Dip. Couns., PG Dip. Music Therapy
As a qualified and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist I provide a safe and supportive environment where a therapeutic respectful relationship can be established and collaborative work can take place.
I feel passionate about this work and believe in the capacity for us all to change how we live our lives if things are not working as we want them to. This can be the case even with the most difficult of experiences or pasts. I appreciate the courage it takes to explore feelings, thoughts and behaviours through this therapeutic process and feel privileged and humbled to be a part of people’s lives whilst we work together.
My Approach & Experience
Being an integrative therapist I am able to tailor my approach to suit the needs of each individual and am committed to helping you gain a deeper understanding of where you are in your life and finding a way forward to how you want your life to be, whatever your issue. I draw upon different approaches including Gestalt, C.B.T, Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic models within my practice.
I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy with the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. I work with couples and individuals of all ages, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.
My experience is varied having worked with many different people of all ages and abilities individually, in groups and family work within the NHS, Education, Social Services, the hospice movement, charitable and voluntary organisations and the private sector.
I believe it is essential in this work that I keep my training to a high standard and am therefore committed to ongoing training and continuing professional development.
Being an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), the BAMT (British Association for Music Therapy) and registered with the HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council), I adhere and abide by their ethical guidelines and Codes of Conduct for good practice.
